Rome is the place where great civilization of the Romans was born. The history of Rome dates back to around 753 BC and is full of colorful accounts of drama and power. In the past The city of Rome was the centre of the Roman Empire, The empire existed from about 100 B.C. to 500 A.D. Roman history contains many famous figures including Augustus the first emperor, Julius Caesar, Caligula, and Nero The accomplishments and exploits of the Roman Empire are still legendary today. Even after the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476, Rome remained an important city.

Today Rome is the capital city of Italy and of the Lazio region. It is also the country's largest and most populous city. it is located in the middle of the peniunsula, it's very close to Florence , there is a fast train "Frecciarossa" neraly every hour that connect Florence and Rome in 1 Hour and 30 minutes. Moreover the 2 citeis are connected by higway A1 and you can drive so that in 2 hour and 20 minutes you can reach the city. Rome is a religious place. The Pope rules the Catholic church from Vatican City within the city's borders. Rome is an artistic place. Italian style and culture emanate from its cutting edge designers and artists The climate in Rome is wonderful since it is close to the Mediterranean Sea The attractions of Rome are so varied and many that it would not be possible to see everything on your first trip. That is, unless you stay in Rome for a couple of months. Some of the tourist attractions in Rome are the Collosseum, the Vatican, the Forum, all the different Piazzas, the Trevi Fountain, the many museums and parks around the city.

The most recognizable symbol of ancient Rome is the Colosseum. It is the most important Roman amphitheater every built. It is impressive to stand beside it and imagine 60 thousand Romans seated inside witnessing gladiators fighting to the death. The Colosseum is remarkably intact considering it is nearly 2000 years old. Some important attractions are: Roman Forum in the oldest area of the city. It is in ruins now, but offers visitors a fascinating look at the structures and city planning of ancient Rome.

The Pantheon was a temple built for all the gods. Its dome is an architectural wonder. The Pantheon was later turned into a church. The Circus Maximus is a long oval track that hosted chariot races in ancient Rome. Today it is a wide open space popular with dogs and their owners. The Arch of Constantine was built in 315 to commemorate a military victory by the Emperor Constantine. The Castel Sant'Angelo was originally built as a mausoleum for the emperor Hadrian. It became a castle and later a museum. The circular structure is one of the most recognizable in Rome.
